Femara

Anybody want to share their experience using it? I recently left my RE and got a 2nd opinion. He wants to start me on Femara this next cycle. TIA!

I have had success with developing mature follicles while on Femara. I have has as many as three mature follicles while on a 7.5 mg dose. When I took 2.5 mg, I only had one mature follicle. 

The only side effect that I had was night sweats. I take mine at night so that I don't have to deal with hot-flashes during the day.

My lining has always been good while on Femara.

I did 3 cycles with Femara at 2.5mg.  I did ovulate each time, but no idea how many follicles.  I did not have any side effects and managed to get pregnant twice, but both ended in m/c.

I am on my thrid cycle of it.  I tried clomid before and never ovulated on it.  With Femara, I have ovulated every time.  I had 1 folicile the first two time and I have 2 follicies this time.  I will find out on Friday if it worked or not.  I have not experienced any side effects.

This is my first cycle on Femara and I definitely had some night sweats but that was the worse and I had 1 mature follie and one that may mature by tomorrow for my IUI.

I am taking it for the first time this month. So far, in the way of side effects I've had none. I hope I respond well to it.

This is my 3rd cycle on it and I've responded really well so far.  1 great follie each time, 2.5 mg pills.

I was on Femara last year on 4 cycles, and had good mature follies each time.  I had been on clomid and had terrible hot flashes, but didn't have any side effects on Femara.  GL!!

MrsFrisco: Thank you so much for posting this message. I was on 50 mg of clomid last month and never O'd. So, I started the 100 mg this cycle and found out on Friday that I developed a crap load of cysts while on Clomid. Has anyone had this happen to them? My mom (when she was TTC) also developed cysts on fertility drugs but she can't remember what fert drugs she used, just that they didn't work b/c she developed cysts and had to stop.

Therefore, I was discussing Femara with my doc and he is going to research it more but is pretty sure that he will put me on this in 2 weeks at my next appt. It makes me feel good to read all of these comments and know that so many people have had good luck with it. I hope to have the same. GL with everything and thanks again for this post.

This is our 3rd cycle on Femara. I have ovulated on every cycle and had success with our 2nd cycle but ended in m/c. As far as side effects, I get hot flashes, night sweats and sometimes some dizziness but all are manageable.

I took 5mg of Femara for my 2nd cycle.  No s/e!  My lining was much thicker on Femara than Clomid.  My RE felt that I O'd a little later than he would have liked on Femara (trigger on CD18 and IUI on CD19).  I had 2 mature follies.
