Re: Not sleeping...

  • I had a hard time sleeping for months after my loss.  Mine was more due to unbelievable nightmares.  I am sorry that you are experiencing this.  I have no sage wisdom or advice for you.  Contact  your doctor if you need to.  In the meantime, ((Hugs))

  • I'm right there with ya! Had SUCH a hard time falling asleep last night, even with 2 tylenol PM's. And was up every 1-2 hours. Taking it easy today, you should try to as well. Hugs to you.
  • I had the same problem after my miscarriage--I had trouble falling asleep and I would wake up after only a few hours. I was averaging about 3 hours of sleep per night for almost a month. It was awful: I felt so terrible physically that I wasn't able to heal emotionally. I just kept thinking that maybe I could feel better if I could just get some sleep.

I don't know what sleeping pills you've tried, but I would see a doctor about it if you haven't already. My doctor had me try three different kinds of pills before I found one that would help me sleep at all (without being a zombie the next day). You can't live on 4 hours of sleep per night. It just doesn't work.

You may also consider seeing a therapist. I tried that too (which didn't work for me, but only because the therapist was TERRIBLE) and I know a lot of women really get something out of it.

    Good luck.

  • I have no suggestions or answers, but I am still unable to sleep.  I have trouble falling asleep and staying asleep.  Hope it gets better for you!

  • I'm sorry to say I can't offer any help here, but it looks like it's normal at least, since so many of us are experiencing it. For me, I'm either super exhausted at 8pm and wide awake at 1am, or I can't fall asleep until 5am. (In fact, it's 4am as I'm posting this.)

I hate the way prescription sleeping pills make me feel drugged, and drowsy meds (Tylenol PM, Benedryl etc) don't work for me at ALL... But on the days that I can actually fall asleep, I've noticed OTC gel tab sleeping pills help me STAY asleep without feeling druggy. No clue why, but maybe it'll work for someone else too. : P
