DH and I cannot agree on names. So yesterday I was reading a list out loud (usually he says NO to everything!) When I came to Allison he says, "I like that, I would call her Allie." I have always liked the name. I know some my age but didn't think there were that many baby Allisons. It's actually #30 on the SS list for 2009!! We would have Julia and Allison....
1. What do you think of the name?
2. Middle name suggestions? LN is long M_______s.

I have always loved my name and honestly, I am surprised it's still so popular currently because I don't know any little ones named Allison.
IMO, it's a pretty classic name and goes really well with Julia!
I've always thought Claire would be a pretty middle name to go with it.
I love Allison! I'm a big fan of family middle names. Anyone in your family you'd want to honor?

It's a very pretty, classic name. Common but not over done!
I like. And that says a lot becuase it's the name of my completely BSC SIL whom I can't tolerate for 15 seconds.

Something to keep in mind on the ranking thing...#30 sounds REALLY popular...until you look at the numbers and realize that only accounts for just under a third of a percent. So it's just under one in every 300 or so girls.
I've always favored Alice over Allison, but if you found a name that you and YH agree on (especially after a lot of trouble)---congrats! It's great you've found a name you both like.
My full name is Allie, and I think it's a nice NN. My MN is Jo, but that's a little country.
If your LN is long, though, I'd stick with something short. Brynn, Blythe (it means happy), Noelle, Rose, Grace, and Elise come immediately to mind.

I love, love, love Allison...and I love Allie even more! It's always been one of my favorites, but it's already taken by a close relative so I couldn't use it for my DD.
I'd go with a one-syllable middle name. I think Allison Grace (Allie Grace) is very pretty but I know a lot of people are "over" Grace as a middle name because it's so popular.

This is awesome because I am Allison and my older sister is Erin (both spelled how you have them here!). I LOVE my name, and LOVE my nickname (Allie, spelled like that!). Go for it!
PS Julia was on my list for a girl but there are already 3 Julies in my family. Too much.
We must have the same taste b/c Lainey was on our list!!! And Laine as a middle name
