These look a lot like dresses you can find at Burlington Coat Factory for like $20. Maybe check there?
I was about to suggest Burlington Coat Factory. I've seen a lot of dresses there that are much cuter and better quality for less money than the ones she posted earlier.

try macy's online (or jcp)-some of their clearance parr-tay type ball gowns are around 30 and under. I'm sure the girls would like to use dresses to play dress up after. so spending a lot, nahhh wouldn't do it. or maybe you could do double duty and go with a spring color and voila-easter dresses.
and i just enjoyed myself vey much looking at girly dresses online. . Dh says over shoulder who are those dresses for?
wait, I thought you said it wasn't a glam pagaent. Those totally look like glam type dresses??? And for just doing this because the lady's been begging for soooo long, you are really getting into it!

Something tells me you are INTO this.
Ditto, ditto, ditto.
Really, tell us. Are the fake teeth, spray tans, and poofy hair next?
Non of the dresses that I posted would qualify for a high glitz pageant. Google high glitz and you will see the difference. Im just looking for a party dress that has a tad bit of sparkle because the lights really pick it up on stage.
And is it horrible that yes Im enjoying buying pretty dresses for my little girls? They are right here beside me looking at dresses. I mainly gave into doing it because they asked me to after 2 of their friends were talking about it. (they take dance and go to church with 2 girls that are also in the pageant)
yikes. Those "high glitz" dresses are seriously ugly and the pics of the little girls dressed up in them make me so sad. Why would you want to expose your daughters to that kind of self-esteem-based-on-looks culture??

The pageant my girls are going to be in is not like the high glitz ones. They wear a basic party dress and the hair is no where that "done up" and no fake tans, teeth, etc. My girls see it as a "dance recital" because it is at the same place as their recital last year. They get up on stage and walk around. To them it is fun. If they didnt ask to do it I wouldnt have them do it.
This is just playing dress up compared to the high glitz pageants.
Try overstock.com DD was a flower girl last year. I was able to get her a beautiful dress for $40 and free shipping.
For what its worth, I think there is a huge difference between dressing up and taking a turn on stage vs the crazy people on Toddlers and Tiaras. Best of luck in the dress search!

They're still being JUDGED against other 4 year old girls for their appearance. That's disgusting.

My kids play dress up all the time. Not to be judged. I find pageants to be highly ridiculous, so yeah, I'm completely judging. I have a lot more thoughts that I won't share on here about the rest of it.
My feeling is this - I hate pageants. I think they're ridiculous. BUT if you're going to do it, for the love of god put them in something nice that looks good with their coloring, age, and hair color.
I'm surprised y'all didn't know "high glitz" was a real term... am I the only trashy one who watches Toddlers and Tiaras?? LOL.
FWIW, I think pageants are ridonkulous and the clothing is ugly. Put them in something that will look good on them, and don't worry about the standards of the dressy outfit in the pageant. Trust me, if the pageant is as you've described that won't hurt them as far as their scores and winning.
If you start posting about flippers though, I'm blocking you.

They all get a trophy and a sash. The only difference is the winner gets a crown. As long as they get a trophy they are happy. L has trophies for tee ball and flag football and they want one so bad.
I don't really have an opinion on the pageant business either. Unfortunately, I think it might be a better idea to find a pageant message board. It does not look like many people on this board can give opinions on dresses without giving their opinions on the pageant part.
I am not trying to jump on the bandwagon here, but what I honestly don't understand is I know you have posted that you have limited finances so why oh why would you spend your money on this, it makes no sense to me.
E...there will never be any fake hair, teeth, or tans. Nor will do a pageant other than this small county one. My girls do take dance. That is why the associate being on the stage with their dance recital. They love it and are really excited about the pageant and their recital in May.

Can you see what the dance teacher has since you said she buys and resells?
I was going to say "Soccer?" hahaha...sorry. But seriously.

I think something like this would look really nice on your DDs as it will bring out their hair and skin tone

I reluctantly googled "high glitz pageant" thinking it actually wasn't a real term.

I have to say - won't they be sad if they won't win? How do you explain that then? Seems like a lot of pressure for a little girl.

LOL, high glitz pageants are seriously disturbing.
