How can I clean my Basal Thermometer without ruining it?

Is rubbing alcohol ok? Maybe using a tissue and wiping it down with plain water.

What do you do to clean it?  I put it in my mouth every morning, so I'm thinking I should clean it more frequently!

    I wipe mine down with small alcohol pads.  I would assume rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball or something like that would be okay as long as you only get the part that goes in your mouth and don't get it too wet.  I know some people use the covers for them also, but I think they're a pain in the butt.

    I clean mine with alcohol then clean that off with water.  I haven't had any issues, but it is all completely sealed.  If you clean it off with water, make sure there are no places for water to seep into.

    the alcohol cotton ball/wipe sounds like a good idea.  I will do that.

    I use the probe covers, which is pretty easy to use. When I don't have any, I clean it with some Listerine mouthwash.

    I clean mine with soap and water.  It goes in your mouth as long as you  are not dunking it - it should be fine.

    Alcohol is fine. We use all sorts of digital thermometers at work and we will take an container (about the size of a tylenol bottle), fill it with alcohol and then dunk them in there.

    As long as it's the probe part and not the top part with the read out you're fine.

    I use water and soap on mine - I just stick the part that I put in my mouth in the tap, soap it up, and then rinse it.  I totally have no idea if that is bad for it or not.  I didn't even think about using rubbing alcohol.

    I put the rubbing alcohol on a cottonball to clean mine and it still works. 

    5/16/2005: M/C at 7 wks
    5/3/2010: MM/C at 7 wks 6 days
    5/25/2014: CP at 4 wks 3 days

    Because of the great "Snow"vember of 2015, my medicated cycle was cancelled.  However, we were blessed with our little rainbow baby due on 8/14/15!  Baby J had other plans and decided to make his grand ole entrance on 7/4/2015!

    Surprise!  Our little girl entered this world on 12/8/2016 after her eviction notice was long past due.  Our little turkey baby turned into a snow baby!

    I clean it with alcohol but then I rinse that off because the alcohol tastes bad!

    I just rinse mine with hot water...hmmm maybe I should be doing more.  I like the Listerine idea
