We've decided not to pursue using Layla in any shape or form. You gals really provided some truly awesome feedback, thank you so very much.
So, back to the drawing board...I have posted that my husband has quite unusual, often masculine taste for girl names. He mentioned Tatum last night and I didn't like it at first, but I'm still thinking about it. I am well aware for the potential for it to be shortened to Tate, which could pose problems (i.e. "taint"), but I am thinking I kind of like the full name itself.
I would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks!

I dislike it because it sounds low-class and the "Tate" part reminds me of taint.

Agreed. I think you'd definitely have to put the hammer down on the nn Tate though.
