We came up with the perfect name. EXCEPT the initial would be SAG. For a girl. Ugh. Just say no! Right?

I think you're fine.  How often is the middle name used in initials?  I was most often "SS" and not "SLS".

when do you really use initials?  usually to initial something that is a document..its not really like a public thing thats used..dont worry about it.

I don't think it's that bad. My bestfriend's initials were SAD, and it never affected her nor was she teased. As long as it's not something like PMS, ASS or ZIT, you should be ok.

My sister's married initials are SAP and it hasn't bothered her at all and it only occaisionally generates a joke.  I do have a friend whose married initials are FAG.  She used her initials all the time until she got married and realized what they formed. Now she just doen't tell anyone her FN unless she has to...she has always gone by her MN.

I honestly don't think that's a bad thing. By the time things begin to sag for her, she'll probably be married and have different initials.

I personally don't think initials are that big of a deal.  My initials growing up were GAS, and no one ever made a big deal of it and I didn't get picked on.  Now, my initials are GASH. It doesn't bother me.  I don't think people care/fixate on initials.  Go with what you like.

Meh.  My cousin's are BAG and we all thought it was kind of cool when we were little that her initials spelled a word.

Out of all the things initials could spell, SAG is pretty benign.  I wouldn't worry.

I thought the exact same!  I thought of the SAG awards.  To be honest, my son is 3 months and I just thought of his initials the other day.  I don't think too many pay attention to them unless the spell out a dirty word

I agree with the other posters. SAG is not that bad at all, it could be much worse! If you love the name, don't change it based on those initials.
