We've been using this for almost 2 weeks now. DD hadn't had a bowel movement without a suppository since she was 6 days old so pedi recommended the dark Karo. She now has 1 BM every 2-3 days. She still seems to be in pain in days she doesn't have a BM, but at least we aren't having to give her a suppository anymore. Oh and we put 1 tsp 3 times a day into her bottle.

We have used it but I found that putting an ounce of gerber prune/apple juice in his bottle one to two times a day works a lot better. I doctor said we could try both. One bad thing about the karo is babies can get used to it being in their bottles and refuse to eat without it. This happened to us with my daughter.

We did it a couple of weeks ago but we were told to use light Karo Syrup which is actually clear. To answer your question- yes it is all corn syrup. Our pedi told us to put 1/2 teaspoon in his bottles. I actually put in a little less and only did it in one bottle. I felt weird giving him corn syrup in his bottles even though it's the number 1 ingredient in a lot of formula. Either way he pooped the next day. Don't know if the Karo syrup did it or if he just went on his own.
All karo syrup is con syrup. It works great for us. We use 1 tsp twice a day and she has a soft but formed stool evey 1-2 days. The dark is the one you want. I didn't know there was a difference but the dark is the one you need.
