I made a post earlier about my dr. appt but I wanted to repost under a different name to see if anyone has experience with this. I have had twice, once about three weeks ago and once yesterday monring a gushing of a little bit of liquid maybe two tablespoons. Both times it has been in the morning as soon as I get up, the first time it happened I was sitting on the side of the tub getting sick in the toilet and the second time I had just woke up and was on the phone with the vet, I was sitting up.
The only thing the on call doctor who has horrible bedside manner did was swab and tested for a trace of amniotic fluid and it was negative but he said if it happened again call the dr. immediately.
No ultrasound to see if that would indicate anything. No try this to prevent it. He was talking so fast I couldn't even understand him. I'm calling my regular dr. on monday morning.
Help bumpies, I'm freaking out!
Re: Amniotic fluid leakage.
Obviously it wasn't amniotic fluid if the test came back negative. What makes you think it would be?
Honestly, it's probably urine. I leak urine all the freakin' time I feel like. Everytime I cough or sneeze or laugh. It's ridiculous. Or it could be some other wacky discharge your crazy body is producing because you are pregnant.
Don't stress about it being amniotic fluid. Seriously.
See my post on your previous post. I have had amniotic fluid leakage. I wish you could just call me or something! If the swab came back negative, I'd say you're in the clear. Your discharge may just be watery, and it'll build up in your vagina when you're laying down and then spill out.
IF your fluid were leaking, there would be nothing you could do to stop it except go on bed rest and hope the bag of waters would heal. A broken bag of waters will make you deliver soon (most women with ruptured membranes deliver within 72 hours, and 50% of the remaining women will deliver each following week). If you think this is happening, you should go to the ER. They will do the appropriate tests again, and maybe explain it better.
But the test came back negative. There's really nothing else they can or should do for you in that circumstance, because that means what you were seeing was not amniotic fluid. And anything else really isn't a concern.
If you still think it's amniotic fluid and that he did the test wrong or something, just go to the ER and have them do it again and they'll probably do an ultrasound for you, too. If it's been going on for a while, they should also check the length and openness of your cervix. I know this is super scary business, but you'll be okay. The test came back negative, so all indications are that there's just something else spilling out of you, and that's okay!
Well he said with it being over 24 hours since it happened the test would probably be negative. But, I'm praying its urine I'm so appreciative to hear its probably something else. I was hoping the dr. would say well it could be this but he didn't he was horrible. I need my bumpies to reassure me. I've been trying not to freak out this whole pregnancy but this is scarying me. TY again. I'm telling you, I REALLY needed it.
1... why would you post this two times when people gave you opinions once before?
2... Im pretty sure the DOCTOR and the TEST would know more than anyone on TB....
And you can help the pee leakage by doing Kegels!
Hahah I do do them! I feel like I am trying to remember to constantly do them.
I think with my cold and sneezing every 10 seconds it isn't really helping!
Wow, TY. He did a vaginal exam and I assume he would have said something about my cervix being dialated. So I'm praying that its just discharge. When it happened I didn't get freaked out ( I feel like if its something wrong I would have instincts that something was wrong intuition or something.) which I didn't not at all. I didn't even think anything about it until I some something about it on the boards and I googled it and it said call your dr asap. So if it happens again I will go in so at least they can test it and tell me for sure right after it happens to beable to test the fluid. I feel so much better already. Seriously, thank you so much.
no one gave me any advice. The test was negative because it had been more than 24 hrs. after it happened. And quite frankly, no my dr. didn't tell me anything I feel more informed after talking to the ladies on the boards than after I left my appt.
It was different, idk. It was just like water. I'm happy to hear that it was a stupid fear because I was freakin out.
Also when I called the dr. about it they were like get here ASAP! They wanted me there within 30 mins of the me talking to the nurses and the nruses talking to the dr. It was scary.
I voted for watery CM when you posted this yesterday.. If your Dr. told you not to worry, then I would go with the Dr's advice not people on the internet..

AE's in my book are not Kosher.
If no one responded to you the first time, maybe its because we are not doctors?
All I can tell you is it sounds like CM, it makes good lube so maybe you should put it to good use
I hope you're feeling better now. You can PM me if you have more questions. Also, remember that you have no reason for your water to break. It usually happens because of an amniocentesis or because of a compromised cervix that lets bacteria get in, which weaken the bag of waters. At this point in your pregnancy, there's no reason for that to happen!
I think you can be comforted also that the test was negative, 24 hours later or not. If baby's membranes were broken, there would probably be some leakage pretty much all of the time - probably too little for you to notice, but it would show up on a test.
I'm not sure what AE means lol. No actually, I didn't post about it yesterday I saw the post yesterday and the exact thing happened to me so I decided to call the dr. and the way they were rushing me to get in scared me, they wouldn't even let me wait until 2 in the afternoon. I know you guys aren't doctors but I was looking for someone who had experienced the same things. But, the weird thing is the dr. told us not to have sex. bc if my water did break itwould get bacteria up there. But, he was so wishy washy. He didn't give a timeline or say comeback so we can do an u/s and find out for sure it was weird. But, I feel a million times better knowing that I have more information about it from someone who has been through it.
HEY! I only have one account thank you very much. lol I saw that post yesterday and it was the exact thing that happened to me and it made me concerned so I called the dr. Because, before I saw the post I wasn't to worried about it.
3 more miscarriages and finally a correct diagnosis (septate uterus) and a corrective uterine surgery later, our second blessing is here!
Yes, he did look at it under the microscope! Really, it sucks but I'm happy to hear that you have "gushes" of discharge too. I wasn't worried about it until I googled it after someone else suspected leaking fluid. I really feel 100% better after my post on here, mostly to hear that it was a crazy conclusion to jump too. But it was scary being rushed around at the dr.
I reread my post and it does say "I wanted to repost it under a different name" My first post was called something about an Emergency appt and wdyt. I wanted to rename my post to see if more people that suspected the same thing would post and give me information.
Your original post (OP) was confusing so I just wanted to clarify b/c I could tell a few people thought you meant that you posted yesterday under that other name and now again today under this name. Know what I mean? (KWIM?) Glad to clear it up!
WOW! I'm learning all kinds of new bump lingo!
And I reread it and understood. I didn't know people would make 2 accounts.
There are some crazy people with a lot of time on their hands.
Though, I could see someone using an AE over here until they came out about their pregnancy on their "home" board(s)...which is why I had originally asked why you had an AE. I would've forgiven the hypothetical offense for that reason.
