Twin Boy Names - Opinions Please!

Just found out our twins are both boys.  Thoughts on our potential name choices?

Emery Lee (Emery is DH's MN, Lee is my father's MN)

Finn Henry

Re: Twin Boy Names - Opinions Please!

  • I like the family connection in Emery Lee's full name ... Finn is good, but maybe there is another middle name with sentimental connotations that will give his name the family connection too?

  • I love Finn, and I am on the fence about Emery.  It just sounds gender neutral to me.  I would actually prefer Lee and Finn, or Henry and Finn.

But I don't like gender-neutral names very much- see what other people say.

    I love Finn.

Also, twin boys are going to be a blast!  Congratulations.

  • I'm not too fond of Emery. I'd give that as a middle name. Not to mention that there are a lot of girls being named Emory nowadays (not that I'm a fan of that)! The other names are great. My suggestions would be...

    Finn Emery and Henry Lee

  • On of my best friends just had a twin GIRL she named Emery, so I think girl. I suggest you move it to a middle name. I like pp's suggestion of Finn Emery and Henry Lee. Plus, that way both boys have a family name.

  • I would not give a boy the first name Emery.  Emerson is a really popular girl name now (as is any Em- girl name).  As a middle name I think it's fine but not for a first name.

I like Finn Henry a lot.  DS's mn is Lee (after FIL and DH's mn) and I think there are a ton of boy names that go well with Lee.

  • Sorry but IMHO I think both Emery and Finn are very girly these days. I like Henry a lot, I would use that as a FN. Lee is good as a MN but I would pick a new FN to go with it.

  • I also think Emery belongs in the girls camp, so I wouldn't use it as a FN.

  • I love Finn!  I agree Emery is feminine sounding. Although I wouldn't like it for either sex.

  • Love the names, BUT I think Henry might sound funny with Finn. The whole "Finn-Hen" thing sounds too matchy. Maybe a different MN for baby Finn?

  • I agree with the PP that said Emery sounds a bit feminine.  Too much like Emerson, a VERY popular girls' name now.

Lee Emery and Henry Finn would be more my preference.

Congrats on twin boys.  I have twin boys, Eli and Benjamin.

  • I like them! Finn is really popular but if that doesn't bother you they're great!

    My thoughts exactly!

  • I agree with the PP.  I like Finn and Henry.

  • Like Finn.

Dislike Emery for a boy or a girl, but I instantly think girl in my head.

  • I agree that Emery is too feminine.  Also, it makes sense to give both boys family names so that one doesn't feel left out.

I like the suggestion of Finn Emery and Henry Lee.

  • I also like Finn Emery and Henry Lee.
