Non Thirsties Covers?

My daughter turned out to be a fast-growing chunky monkey, and she's 12 pounds and already on the largest snap size for the Duo Size 1 covers. I figure we'll need something before the Size 2s fit, but I have no idea what to use before then. Any suggestions for what to use?

Re: Non Thirsties Covers?

  • I heard the Kawaii are generous in sizing (and super affordable) and I plan on getting some for this reason but I'm curious what others have to say.

I agree with this. I actually really like my Kawaii covers and they are super cheap. My DS outgrew his Duos and all of his other newborn stuff quickly. The Kawaiis fit from about 10lbs and still fit at 16lbs with plenty of room to grow. I haven't had any problems with leaks and the aplix looks great. I've used the Kawaii cover over fitteds overnight with no leaks.

  • I went ahead and moved to the size 2 cover when E was 14ish pounds and they fit her fine.  I also really like my KL OS cover, it has the extra leg gusset like the Thirsties.

  • The duo 2's and thirsties mediums we have are baggy, but they fit (meaning no leaks).  I wish thirsties would get their act together on sizing.
  • My baby is 1.35. and we're still on that last snap. I haven't bought any size 2 yet, but I have picked up some thirsties v2 which fit her well, and a KLOS, which I also like.
  • Bummis Whisper wraps and Mommy's Touch Covers.
