Shape puzzle?

What age should a child be able to master a shape puzzle? We have a Melissa and Doug puzzle with eight shapes. Not sure when LO should be able to get it? Thanks!

Two of mine can do the shape puzzles now and the other two are trying to get it still and they are the same age as your little one.

Ohmygosh your babies are precious! Dh went to the 15 month appt without me and he doesn't ask anywhere near the number of questions I ask . Thanks for the reply. He's not really interested in putting them in the right place so I wasn't sure if I should spend a lot more time on shape puzzles (we don't do them often enough).

My daughter is 17 months, and she's been able to do the shape puzzle for a month or 2 now.  Our puzzle only has 5 shapes though.

I haven't noticed how DS does with the shape puzzle because he invariably chooses to work on the community vehicle or one of his animal puzzles. He's mastered those.
