Went to the RE's office this morning and everything is still going along the way its supposed to. No follies which is exactly what they want to see at this stage. I reduce my lupron today and add follistim and menopur. So, now it's going to be 5 shots a day! FIVE! With the follistim, menopur, lupron, and lovenox I am truly turning into a pin cushion. It will all be worth it in the end, right? We can hope.

Oh, okay, so you are doing 2 shots of the lovenox. I will only be doing 1 shot of 40.
Good luck with all the shots Amy - I hope it goes by very fast!!!

Yes, you can!! For sure!! Think of all you've been through already - the shots (most of them) are only temporary!!

Tricks for Lovenox-1. Ice the area for a good couple of minutes (I am actually using the reusable ice pack that my meds were delivered with but someone else suggested a can of beer or soda)
2. Wipe with alcohol
3. Stab yourself, for some reason some of the needles on the lovenox aren't all that sharp. My hematologist told me to spread the area instead of pinching it, I find it easier to just grab as much skin as possible and releasing the area as soon as I get the needle in.
4. Push the plunger down very slowly. If it burns, go slower. I literally go so slow I'm not sure anything is going in.
5. Remove needle and ice again. Do NOT rub the area, just put the ice pack back on until the burning stops.
6. If you're only doing it once a day do it night and don't sleep in pants, the waist band of pants can rub and irritate the area.
