'Tiger Mothers' leave lifelong scars
this is good. (but the spelling errors are driving me crazy!)
Childhood cancer (DH) + chemo + radiation = 0 sperm.
LO #1 - 1 unmedicated/self-monitored IUI w/ donor sperm.
LO #2 - 1 m/c, 2 BFNs, 4th IUI worked (unmedicated/self-monitored with new donor sperm).
Life is beautiful!

Re: A response to Amy Chua's article
what a great article...this is such an interesting subject, and maybe this scrutiny of the parents who still follow this style will help some poor kids being subjected to this "parenting" style.
i gotta say though, i didn't notice errors, but I am not the best when it comes to spelling or grammar as anyone would notice on here, hahaha!

I was at a meeting yesterday specifically about Chua's article/excerpt and reactions to it! I missed the post here last week but I kme930 just linked it for me in her page below (thanks!), and I agree with so many of the responses wholeheartedly.
It's totally fascinating, not just the topic itself, but the quantity and intensity of reactions to the WSJ originally and in the 2 weeks since!
Here are the four main the follow-up articles we discussed yesterday:
Our Thanksgiving Day baby 11/22/07
Pregnant with #2 with LPD, uterine polyp/hysteroscopy, DOR (AMH = 0.17), 2 c/ps
Our early Christmas present 12/9/10
Very interesting and I love his article. He actually reminds me very much of my ex who I spoke about in my reply.

He said many of the same things as the author did, that he will always have scars from his Tiger parents, particularly his mother. Funny that his mom too was Vietnamese. There was no affection in his childhood. In her mind, his mother was doing what was best for him. It was actually really sad to witness--how much he lived in fear of his mom.
I remember that she used to call his teachers in high school for progress updates. Same thing with his Tennis instructor, piano instructor & Tae Kwan Do instructor. He had to excel at everything or he would pay the consequences.
