Hello!
I have a few questions but thought I would give a little background first. Late last year my H and I talked about TTC. My H had a SA done (unknown to me) and the results were not good. I do not know the exact results as it was done in the midst of us relocating from Houston to St Louis and I had already moved due to my job. He had some concerns due to an accident he had when he was younger and the fact that he and his ex-wife tried for about a year with no luck and a couple months after they separated she got pregnant. I understand that every couple is different.
What I got from my H is that the urologist told him that the chances of us conceiving naturally were very slim. My H had another SA done with an RE clinic here in St Louis and we have an appointment in two weeks to discuss the results and hopefully find out what our options are.
Now for my questions:
1. Is there somewhere I can find a list of potential questions to ask?
2. Does anyone have any recommendations for books to read or websites for research and understanding?
TIA!
Re: Intro & Questions
Welcome, sorry you have to be here.
I don't have a list of questions or books for you to read and a lot of the questions I asked were after reviewing MH's SA results so we knew where they problem was and I had already gone through some testing with my OB, so the questions were tailored to the knowlege we already had (e.g. what RE's view on low morphology was, minimum counts for IUI, whether I would be on meds even though the issue was MFI and I was ovulating on my own, etc).
The questions really depend on how bad the SA was and what your RE is recommending. Also, before an RE will treat you, he's going to want to have you tested as well. So he'll likely suggest day 3 bloodwork, some ultrasounds, 7dpo bloodwork, an HSG, etc. Once those are done, you'll have a clearer picture of where you guys stand. It may be best for you to hear him out the first day, get your tests done and then once you have all the info, make your list of questions and go back. Just my thought.
