Thank you very, very much! I knew I was last to respond yesterday (seeing as I was at a meeting specifically about this article and reactions to it, LOL), so I wasn't sure if you'd see it or not!
Very thoughtful responses, I think. Indeed it's not black and white -- I agree that middle ground is key. For those who wondered, that was just an excerpt from her book; indeed more did follow that was more middle ground!

Yep.
But even taken for what it is, I still think it's worth pondering to the extent that she clearly loved her girls and expected highly of them...she just showed it in a way that most of us would never support, but there's something to be said for high expectations too as many of the comments here (a surprising number to me, in fact) noted last week....
