How many miles do you log per week?
I haven't run in a long time and when I did run, I never really kept track of anything on a weekly basis. I want to challenge myself, but also don't want to be over-zealous in my goals.
I am considering myself a beginner because it has been awhile and wanted some opinions...

If I'm not training for anything I generally only run between 15-20 a week. I run 4 times a week anywhere from 4-6 miles.
I agree, start slow. Maybe start with 2-3 times a week for 2-3 miles. You could always alternate between running and walking if it's too hard in the beginning.
listen to your body and don't increase your total weekly mileage more than 10% per week.
coming back is hard. go slowly and don't push yourself too much!
I agree with the PP's, a couple days/ week and start with a couple miles each time. Definitely listen to your body and try not to increase too much too soon, that's when injuries occur. Usually a 10% increase is good.
I run 40+mi/week, usually 5-6 runs/week.
