Thursday Shredding Check In

Level 2...OMG!  Today was my first day of L2 and I spent most of the video staring with my mouth open thinking, "Huh, you want me to do what?"  I know I felt like this after the first day of L1 so I am hoping I will get better within a few days because today was pitiful!  The thought that a PP said double jump ropes are the warm up in L3...forget about it!

As for the weight gain and those who need some extra motivation...here's my attempt.  I also gained during L1 and I know my eating did not change because I religiously do WW and food journal everyday. The thing that keeps me going is that I got a side peek at my body while dashing into the shower today and I actually saw some change.  I think my arms looked more toned and my legs looked less jiggly. I also know that I am stronger because yesterday I had to carry my 2 year old and 5 month old in the infant carrier up 3 flights of stairs and I was not winded!  I am going to stick with it because I cannot imagine I will continue to gain in L2 since I can barely breathe during the majority of it and I am going to continue looking for changes to my physique.  I know I can take off a few pounds by throwing some extra cardio in at some point after my Shred.

Don't give up ladies, let's finish strong!

Re: Thursday Shredding Check In

  • D4 L1 for me later tonight.  I struggled a bit during yesterday's workout because my muscles were so tired but it felt good to push through and do it anyways.  The hardest part of Level 1 for me is the first circuit of strength.  I hate the push ups with a passion and then to have to get up and do those arm raises above your head kills me but it's worth it in the end.

  • D4 L1 for me.  I always feel so great after I complete a workout.  I am notorious for quitting.  It has taken me a long time to not worry about the number on the scale.  I weigh in on Monday.  Sure I want to see a drop but I also need to ask myself "how do I feel".  That's the most important thing.  Even though I've only worked out for 4 days now, I already feel better.  I wonder what I'll be saying/thinking after 30 days!

  • Today was D14 L2. I am doing better keeping up with Natalie most of the time. I have do all the walking pushups now and my squats are so much lower then before! I have really weak arms so I'm trying to push myself harder. I found making myself do a certain number in a row (say 10 or 15) I am able to last so much longer. Those double jump ropes are a killer and I'm sure I'll ever be able to do it!! I'm trying though.

  • Just finished Day 6. I can tell a difference in my endurance already. I only stopped for two 5 second water breaks. The first day I would pause the DVD about 10 times and it took me almost an hour to get through the whole thing (pitiful, I know!) I still am having trouble with my knees. I especially feel it during the jumping jacks. They feel like they are going to break! I'm not feeling too much pain between workouts, just a little soreness in the evenings. Hopefully this will get better!

  • This morning was D4 L1 for me. It is getting easier - I'm able to do almost all of the sections w/o stopping. I'm still struggling with the side lunges and the arm raises... it kills my shoulders! Ive decided I'm not going to move up to level 2 till I'm able to do the advanced side of all the moves in level 1, even if my 30 day shred turns into 60 day shred lol

  • I just started this today!

D1 L1....wowza that was hard.  All I had at home was 5 lbs weights and that did not last long so I used nothing and I was in pain!  This is going to be a long 30 days but I hope to stick with it.

  • Thanks for the pep talk! I'm back in the saddle again today, after two days off.  I did 8 days straight before that, so am I on Day 9 or Day 11?  Anyway, this was my 3rd time doing L2 and I'm still doing single jump ropes, crunches instead of that crazy plank-pose ab move on the third circuit, and can't for the life of me do the skater move correctly, but I'm tryin'!

Do you guys wear shoes or do this barefoot?  I've been doing barefoot and wondered if that may be why my knees are constantly sore (even when I'm not doing the workout), so I wore shoes today but am not sure if that'll help.

  • D8 L2 - took yesterday off after doing 7 days straight on L1.

L2 = HOLY CRAP!!  There is NO way I will continue to gain weight on this level... I don't think it's possible! haha  Anyway, made it thru but had to cut out of circuit 3 early since DS was not having it anymore.  ugh, but tomorrow is another day!  Keep it up ladies!! =)
