  • Doing and feeling pretty good. I have my next OB appt in the am and then my growth scan in the afternoon. I'm still able to get up and move around pretty easily and when my H mentions that we can use the expectant mom parking at BRU I tell him not to bother because I can still walk easily and I'm not waddling yet (never did during my pregnancy with C either).

I'm hoping we get good news about Owen at the u/s since at the last one they noticed that the right lateral ventricle was on the high end of the normal range (.90-.96 cm and they want it under 1 cm or 10 mm). They're just going to pay a little extra attention to that area during the scan.

Also hoping my OB doesn't get on my case about a lack of weight gain. I got a bad cold the day after my last appt (2 weeks ago) and it took about a week to get over the worst of it. I still have the stuffy/runny nose and the lingering cough. C caught it a week ago and is just getting over the worst of it and the husband may be coming down with it now. Just glad we're all getting sick well before the babies arrive.

Thanks for asking! I'll try to remember to post an update tomorrow night.

  • Yay! Glad to hear you're doing well.  When I hit 28 weeks is when I stopped working FT, and started working at home 3 days/office 2 days.

Hope all goes well with the scan - please do post an update.

  • Update: I do indeed have getational diabetes (I had it last time as well), which I expected. I have to try to schedule an appointment with the dietician and I just found out that my insurance doesn't cover nutritional counseling, so I need to find out how many times they'll need to see me, how much each appt costs and if they offer any sort of payment plan. Once I have my appt I can pick up my test strips (I already have a meter from my last pregnancy) and I'm set.

I gained 1.5 lbs in the last two weeks, which my OB seemed happy about. BP was great, platelet count & white blood cell count for anemia testing were great, no protein or sugar spilling into my sample this morning. Aside from the GD diagnosis, everything looked great. I forgot to ask how far ahead I was measuring. My next appt with the OB is in two weeks. I asked how long she'll let me go and she said no longer than 38 weeks, though she doesn't think I'll make it to that point. Not sure if the GD figures into that or not. I was induced at 39 weeks with C because of the GD and had no signs of labor prior to checking into the hospital, so we shall see.

The growth scan went great. As the perinatologist said, they're measuring a little ahead but that it was a perfect ultrasound. Amelia is still breech (sitting right on my cervix) and Owen has moved to being transverse. I'm hoping he'll continue his rotation and that she'll then follow suit. The measurements for both babies (including the ventricles) were well within the normal range, which makes me very happy. Amelia is measuring at 28w4d (7 days ahead) and 2 lbs, 12 oz. Owen is measuring at 28w5d (8 days ahead) and 2 lbs, 13 oz. Only a 1% differential between them.

We got a few 3D shots but Amelia wasn't in the mood to have her picture taken. She kept turning towards my back when the tech tried to get her face, so we have a couple of pictures of her very cute ear. lol I guess she wants to keep her identity a surprise for a while longer. We got one good picture of Owen's face and then he decided he didn't want his picture taken either and put his arm across his face and both feet up in front of it.
