Tummy sleeper?

Anyone have a tummy sleeper?  The past two nights DD has flipped onto her tummy.  It's weird because she usually HATES being on her tummy!  Plus, it makes me nervous.  I know it's fine and she's old enough to move, but it still makes me nervous.

Re: Tummy sleeper?

  • Ella has been sleeping on her tummy since she was able to roll over (about 3 months). Nothing to be nervous about!

  • both my kids were tummy sleepers from birth.  They had/have good head control so it never bothered me.
  • Reece has been a tummy sleeper from the time that he could roll over. DH was very nervous about it at first too, but he's OK now.

  • DS has been sleeping on his stomach since about 6 months. If he doesn't he wakes frequently, just like Mama Smile

  • My DD has been a tummy sleeper since birth and we never had any problems. You couldn't get her to sleep on her back.
  • Both of my boys have been tummy sleepers since day one (pretty much).

  • Yes.  Ever since we stopped swaddling, he rolls to his side or tummy.  He sleeps on his back sometimes too.  It especially made me nervous in the beginning, and still does, but I'm used to it.  And I know that there are no additional risk factors in the crib (Halo Sleepsack instead of loose blanket, no pillow, no soft toys).
