Success after IF

I look like Frankenstein with this incision!

All I need are a couple of bolts coming out of my ears.

I took off my bandage today and I'm so glad I could.  It itched so bad.  The gauze I took off was clean and the incision is big but looks good.  My instructions are vaigue on how to care for it, so I did a washcloth with a little soap and patted with a fresh washcloth - no soap.  Neosporin added.

Then we went to the park and Jack loves to kick at the mulch so when we got home I did it again - the washcloth and fresh neosporin because I was worried about all the dust he kicked up.

Lemmie tell ya... I look HOT.

Re: I look like Frankenstein with this incision!

  • I can tell you that when the swelling goes down, it will most likely hardly even be noticable.  My FIL and aunt both had the surgery and you can't even see their scars.  I swear.

I am glad you are feeling okay..Is Frank able to take some time off?

  • Loading the player...
  • Frank not work?  Really?  That's why we've got the babysitter!  She was here from 9 am to 6pm.
  • It WILL get better.

Mine is pretty much invisible now...my Mom couldn't even find it when she looked last week ;)

  • Ugh... like the stress of it all wasn't enough but now you get to deal with feeling self conscious about the incision.  Sorry!!

If it helps at all I'm CRAZY fair skinned and scar bad.

When I had a serious knee operation and came out of it with a huge lightning bolt scar down the outside of my leg a part of me was upset that I'd have that awful thing for the rest of my life.

I rubbed vitamin E on it daily (as part of the therapy to keep the patella mobile and not mucked up in scar tissue) and you can BARELY see it.

It may turn out much much better than you think when it's all said and done!

Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
