what type of humidifier for baby

Re: what type of humidifier for baby

  • I don't know but I'm curious what everyone will say.  I've always used cool mist for myself but don't really know the difference between the two!

  • I read in one of my books that you should only use a cool mist humidifier for baby.

  • Cool mist for babies... my older sister RAVES about the crane ultrasonic cool mist humidifier that are shaped like animals. :)

  • We registered for a cool mist one... I didn't even realize there was a difference... good thing I checked!  :)  Its the cutest little froggy one!  Goes with the jungle theme!

  • We use a cool mist with DD.  I've heard that the warm mist encourages bacteria growth, so if you do use one, you have to make sure to clean it well and pretty often.

  • I was told that the only difference was the fact that one puts off warm/hot mist and the other is obviously cool. The warm/hot humidifiers can potentially burn a baby. We purchased the Vicks Warm Mist Humidifier that BRU had on sale 50% off last week. I plan to keep it up on a small side table.

  • I always read that a cool mist should be used. I bought one of the cool mist ones from Crane....the one that looks like a little green frog.
