Sigh.... my twin brother... THE best guy in the world.... and his wife are expecting. Their u/s today yielded a Choroid Plexus Cyst. I know that, with no other markers found, the incidence of something awful (like Trisomy 18) is about 1:300.
Just wondering if anyone dealt with a CPC and had it simply go away?
Thanks ladies. They are spo deflated and all they can do is wait for the level II u/s and peri meeting. =(
Re: Anyone deal with a Choroid Plexus Cyst?
I did not, but I have 3 friends who have dealt with it.
One went forward with an amnio and all was fine......her son is now a healthy 7 year old
My other friend just waited a couple weeks for another detailed u/s and it was gone about 6 weeks later.
The other friend is still PG and they found both a CPC and an EIF.......she ended up doing the Quad Screen and the results came back normal. Baby is not born yet, but they believe baby is healthy!
I hope everything works out for them. I think these are seen a lot now.
Brady had 3 large CPS that were found at our anatomy scan. We opted not to do an amio. Our peri calmed our fears by telling us how common they were. By my 24 week scan they had resolved themselves. Good luck to them. They are so so common.
My DS had one at the 20 wk appt. and by the 24 week appt. it had disappeared.
GL to them!
