Another question about transitioning to toddler bed

I know this gets asked a lot on here, but I dont' remember anyone transtioning rooms and bed together. DS has started climbing out of his crib this past week or so. So we are getting ready to get him his big boy bed and make that leap. My question is that since we have #2 on the way and were planning on using DS's current room as the nursery again, we want to transition him to the new room too. Do you think we should do 1 big transition all at once, or do the bed then move it the new room after he's used to it? We considered leaving him in the current room but then we have to repaint it and the other room to switch the decors. He's been really flexible and good at previous adjustments, but I wanted to get your input.

I think it would be to much change at once.  I would start with the bed then the new room.  Do you ever play in the soon to be new room?  I would get him as familiar as you can with the new room before the move. Maybe put all his toys in their now.
