I am going to have a Femara IUI in Feb and have my perscription and was wondering how much it costs OOP? I have ins, but no IF coverage. I will be taking 2 pills a day for 5 days ofcourse. I also have the Ovidrel perscription and I know around about how much that costs since I had it with my 2 Clomid cycles.
TIA!
Re: Ladies that have taken Femara OOP Cost??
after anovulatory diagnosis and TTC for 1 1/2yrs with several medicated cycles and one chemical pregnancy, we have our first bundle of joy!
IT'S A GIRL!
#2 EDD 2/5/13 dx with anti-BIG E antibody, seeing a MFM
I don't take one single minute for granted.
My total was $162. Now I have no idea how but my insurance covered it. I told my husband someone above must have been looking down on us!
My injections so far have been $67 a piece but that is for Menopur. $54 for Bravelle.
OOP sucks! Not like we're paying enough as it is
Yes, I am taking 2 2.5mg pills a day. That does sound kinda weird when ya think about it!!
Try this:
https://www.femara.com/patient/print-on-demand/print-on-demand-option2.jsp
I used that and the pharmacy keeps it on file and they charge me $10. Femara pays the difference between the $10 and what my insurance company will agree to pay (which isn't much) up to $800 in a 12-month period. Otherwise 7.5mg for five days = $250+ at my pharmacy. Even as a cancer drug, my insurance still doesn't cover a whole lot.
Thank you ladies!! I was thinking about checking out one of those online IF pharmacies I have seen some comments about but of course I was thinking of finding out from my own pharmacy hoping I could get lucky and them cover it. I would have had sticker shock if I hadn't asked you ladies!! HEHE!!
I have about 2 weeks to get the pills so I will see what the best deal is!!!
My insurance doesn't cover IF meds either but when I picked up my meds, the Femara was free.
I don't believe it's listed as an IF medicine, so you may just have to pay a co-pay if you have one for perscriptions. My Ovidrel injection was $102 OOP.

WOW!!!! i am going to try it....all they can do is tell me no right?? That is so cool the card worked for you. I hope I can be so lucky!
Definitely give it a try!
I loved Femara, this is my last cycle on it and it was so much better for me than Clomid. My lining was much thicker and I only had two s/e's, which were being very emotional at times and my skin broke out, but hey, that's what concealer is for!
Your insurance should cover it. Using Femara for infertility is an off label use, it is typically used for breast cancer. When it comes to prescription drugs insurance doesn't care what the diagnosis is or why you are using it so it should be covered.
Here are some vouchers, one for $10 and one is free.
Good luck!
Yall Rock! I am going to try that voucher this weekend when I go to the pharmacy!!!
