Those who used a FP RnP Sleeper...

Was it hard to transition your LO into a crib?  I'm nervous about it because I feel like they are so cradled in the RnP.  I have elevated the crib mattress a bit so that aspect of it shouldn't be so different.  I'm hoping that swaddling will help too.

Did you do anything special when you transitioned into a crib?  How did it go?

Re: Those who used a FP RnP Sleeper...

  • I have yet to be able to get DS into the crib, and he is 8 months old on Friday. I am planning to put him in the crib on Friday and taking apart the RNP so when I get tired of him waking every hour I can't just put him back in it. I have tried to get him in the crib many times before, but he just doesn't sleep as well, and wakes up screaming bloody murder.

  • No advice as we are still using the RnP.. we plan to start transitioning them this weekend.  They are still swaddled so I hope that helps them still feel "craddled".

I may have to do this too.  Right now DS starts the night in his crib, but he sleeps so much better in the RnP.  So after about the 2nd or 3rd wake up, I will move him to the RnP, where he almost always will sleep better.  But he is outgrowing it and needs to sleep exclusively in the crib soon.

Sorry to the OP - I have no advice.  GL and keep us updated on how it turns out!

  • Our transition wasn't bad. I put them in their crib with the FP seahorse and use the true womb swaddler. I think that having them swaddled quite tight is key to making them still feel secure.

I also tried elevating the crib mattress, but they kept sliding down so I just made it flat.

  • We only did naps in the RnP and bedtime in the co- sleepers.  They didn't have any issues and actually started sleeping better when we moved them to the cribs.  Good Luck!
  • We really didn't do anything special. Just swaddled them tight like normal and put them in their cribs.

  • My LO didn't have too hard of a time, I started putting him in their for naps and such when he pretty much fell asleep in my arms with a bottle and as long as he had his comfort blanky with him he transitioned pretty well. I think it took like 3 or four times before he was sleeping pretty well in it. The sea horse is good, and I also have a crib aquarium from baby Einstein that they both love.

  • I transitioned Stella around 5ish months to her crib and it wasn't terrible. It took a few weeks, many nights where she still ended up in the sleeper in the middle of the night but it wasn't too bad. We used a wedge at first so she was still slightly inclined and gradually took that away.
