we've reached an exciting new phase, I'm afraid. honest to god, I have to ask ginny to do (or not do) something over and over again. by the fifth time it's completely draining.
"ginny, please don't go there.
honey, can you please come here?
don't go over there, please, ginny.
I asked you nicely not to go there.
ok, what did mama say?"
UGH!!!! I feel like this happens with everything. "eat your sandwich please. can I have your coat? be nice to the doggie..."
any suggestions? is this a temporary phase? man, I hope so.
Re: does your toddler listen to you?
My initial reaction is "Yeah, right". Honestly, it seems like a crap shoot if they will pay attention. I have one DD that is more likely to do what I ask and one that tends to follow her own agenda a little more. Good luck!

When they want to, or when I bribe them.
If it's something I really need them to do and they don't it goes to timeouts after a count of 3. If it's 'wash your hands and sit at the table for dinner" I am fully aware I have to ask about 10 times first.
Some days he listens like a champ.
Other days he fights me the whole way. He uses the word "no" and it drives me nuts!
We are definitely having more better days now that he is talking sooo much. I can bargain with him now.
Penny, on the other hand, that girl is going to be my hand full. She is feisty.

Only when he wants to...which isn't often. Urgh. Toddlers and having minds of their own.
