Help for my sister..my niece was up 5 times lastnight.

Hi Ladies.

I was wondering if any of you have advice for my sister in regards of how to keep my niece who is 3 1/2 now in bed all night.  She has a very active imagination and seems to hear ever little sound at night.

My poor sister is exhausted and she sat down and talked to Silvie this morning, but I don't know much a 3 1/2 listens when mommy talks.

 TIA

  • Have they tried a white noise machine yet?

  • baby gate on her room and super nanny style of going through the bedtime routine as normal and then if she gets up you say it's time for bed and take her to her bed and then if she gets up again take her back to her room with out saying anything and so on and so on until she goes to sleep.  Another version of this is putting the child to bed and then sitting with your back to them and not saying a word to them and if they get up you just put them back to bed again and stay seated in the room.  I think these two things will be techniques I'll for sure be using.  good luck!
