final pre-IVF appt. recap

Had the last paperwork / question appt today.  RE went over all the test results and it was all good except DH's SA.  His total count was only 14 million - 48 hours abstaining (it has always been lowish, but it's really gone down in the last year).  But, the really bad part was his morph.  In his 2 SA's last year his morph was 17% and 30% - the new WHO standards say as long as it's 4% it's ok.  Well, for this SA DH's was 0%.  No normal sperm. 

The RE said that doesn't mean we can't have success - I mean I have gotten pregnant 3 times.  But, becasue of the results she is recommending ICSI with the IVF.  I was really hoping not to need that.  But, we have one shot at IVF, so we will have it done to get the best chance we can get. 

So with my crappy old eggs and DH's lack of sperm it's a wonder we did ever conceive.  I know IVF will give us our best chance, hearing that just reminded me of how broken I - or we - are.  DH said - "I guess we just aren't a good match for making babies."  How sad. 

Everything is all set to proceed though, all paperwork signed.  Injects class is Thursday morning.  Now if I could just O then we'd be set to go.  Patience is not my strong suit - I just wish we could get this party started already!!!

I'm so sorry you and DH had to hear this news. However, if IVF is your best bet, you're already ready to start with it! I hope you O soon! I REALLY hope that IVF works for you! Try to stay calm, good luck!

I'm sorry.  Dh and I have said we're not a good match either, and it is sad.  I hope IVF works for you.

ugh, i'm sorry.  (  at least your RE sounds optimistic.  Hopefully IVF is the answer. 

i especially hate all the waiting too, so hopefully you'll O soon!!
