I have my breast pump from my last pregnancy and just got it out of storage. Do I need new tubing, etc for it or is everything from last time ok to use again?

I am getting new tubing and replacing the membranes but keeping the shields. I thought the tubes at least should be replaced since I used that machine non-stop!
I used everything again except the tubing - mine had some mold in it (I must not have completely dried it before storing it. If your tubing looks fine I woul use it again.
I did end up buying more horns and valves with #2 because I was lazy and didn't want to have to wash stuff out after each time I pumped. It's nice to have the extra parts for that
I went to the breastfeeding center in our hospital and asked this very question. I was told that it is not necessary to replace everything. Just cleaning/sterilizing will be fine.

I would 100% get new tubing (minimally). I actually tossed the tubing I had when I was done pumping for DD - I got a set of 2 (so 4 tubes) for $9.99 on Amazon - worth the $ to me.
I did buy all new parts, but that is just me. I guess replacing the parts would depend on how often you pumped, how long, how old the parts were, etc. I felt like mine were getting nasty at the end anyway since I pumped for 11 months, so I just tossed everything.

I sterilized everything the last time around. But at the hospital with #2, I used one of their pumps for a day and got a new kit with tubing, bottles, shields, membranes etc. So I essentially got an entire new set in addition to the pieces I already had. I plan to look over the parts this time, sterilize and most likely I will pump some again in the hospital so I will probably end up with more new parts:)

Our hospital gives you new parts at the delivery so I would call and ask if your hospital does the same!
