just starting to look for twin strollers. i like the bugaboo singles and think the new twin version looks pretty neat, anyone planning on getting that one? it seems like it could be convenient to have one that you can switch between a single and double (and use a wrap or something for the second, or if you only have one).
one question, if you used a stroller with a bassinet, did you ever put both twins in the bassinet together when they were little? just curious if it would be similar to having them sharing a crib.
Re: bugaboo twin and other stroller questions
is the bugaboo avail now? i remember a few months ago when it was announced, but not avail to purchase yet... i would think it would be out now b/c it's Jan when most new strollers are released.
it looks very cool- but if it's anything like the other bugaboo full strollers- it's not a great suburb stroller... Everyone I know who has a bugaboo that lives in NJ says it's great for NYC but not for the suburbs... taking it apart to put in the car = PITA, etc.... but I have no idea if the new one is like that or not.
I do love my city select b/c it goes from single to double and back so easily- i only keep that stroller in my car, and like tomorrow, when i have a doc appt with just one child - i already have a single in my car... LOVE it.
I prefer a tandem for indoor use - many areas I shop won't fit a SBS down asiles, etc - so that would be a choice to make- esp at the cost of a bugaboo - you want to know if you like a SBS vs. Tandem for sure.
you could only put 2 babies in 1 bassinet for a short time... we did that with the boys in their swing but really, for maybe 3 weeks top.... And IMO, bassinets are a waste of money if the stroller seats fully recline- baby can go in them from day 1.
yeah- that's crazy to me... but sadly i know many people who don't mind spending that much... and honestly- these days with SOO many high end strollers- I think Bugaboo was wise to price it so high - b/c it makes it truly seem luxury again --- b/c lately the regular bugaboos were no big deal compared to all the others out there.
I'm still waiting for them to come out. At this point we are still planning to get one. I am curious if the seat off my cameleon will fit on the donkey. If so, that may cut down on the cost. This is the first I've even heard the cost of it.
I heard that they will be available in April.
I'm DYING laughing here. I'm still trying to decide if I'll spend the money for the city mini!!! Do you know what DH and I could do with $1600???!!!! A hell of a lot more than that stroller can do! My BF got a bugaboo (single) and I told her that unless it walked the baby itself and made me a grilled cheese sandwich at the same time, I woudln't pay for it in a million years!!!
to each their own i guess. for example, we are a one car family (we really dont see a need for a second car) i've never calculated what that has saved over the last 10 years but im sure its much more than the difference between strollers.
I kind of have the same opinions about people who buy SUVs, but I suppose if people can afford it, why not? Everyone does whatever they want. We're also a 1 car family, so I don't mind splurging a bit on a stroller when the babies arrive.
