Femara dosage??

I just picked up the pills and it says to take 2 a day, which is 5mg...i feel like i have only ever taken the 2.5mg dosage.. whats the norm?

    This is my first femara cycle and I asked the same thing about 2 weeks ago.  Everyone told me that 5mg is pretty standard....thats what I'm taking....GL to you! =)

    I took 5 mg all 3 times I cycled with Femera.

    I always took 5mg as well



    Dx: PCOS, Anovulation, RPL
    Born via emergency c/s February 9, 2008 - 9lbs, 3 oz!!!!

    TTC# 2 since February 2010 - BFP #1 Sept 2010-(5mg Femara, 1500mg Met, Ovridel) Missed M/C at 10w2d, discovered at 13w2d, D&C at 14w

    BFP # 2 - February 2011-(1500mg Met, HCG Injection) Missed M/C at 10w1d, discovered at 10w3d, D&C at 11w...RPL testing came back all normal.

    Trying again. June 2011 - Clomid/1500 mg Met / Baby Aspirin - BFFN!

    July 2011 Femara/1500mg Met/ Baby Aspirin - c/p

    August 2011 - Femara/1500mg Met/ Baby Aspirin - c/p

    September 2011 - Puregon/ 1500mg Met/ Baby Aspirin - BFFN!!!!

    Hey lady! Since I lurk over here I thought I'd chime in on this one...

    I took 5mg too. If you were on 2.5, then maybe this is your RE bringing out the big guns Wink

    Either way, I really really hope this works!!!

    I think 5mg is pretty standard.

    I just have to say that you are guys are all light weights!  I was taking 12.5mg per day.  I guess being old, having old ovaries and old eggs means taking extreme measures.

    Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck.  Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
