DH and I have been talking about using the name Addison. I was wondering if you ladies associate the name with a boy or a girl?

I know one male Addison in his late 20s and a female Addison under the age of 5.

I would associate it with a girl more though.

Thanks Ladies. We are expecting a boy in May and we where talking about family names Addison was my great grandfathers name and we both liked it but i thought it was associated more with girls lately and i don't want our son to be a male Addison in a class with a handful of female Addisons.

Despite the "son" ending, I associate it with a girl. I think there are a couple of Addison's born every week at the local hospital. Seriously. It's crazy-popular here.

Sadly, that is exactly what would happen.  But it would make a lovely middle name!

I think girl, but I wish it had stayed male. I hate that every name ending in -son becomes a girls name if it starts with a vowel.
