3rd Trimester

Hot face?

So the last two mornings I've woken up to more swollen than normal feet and hands, but also a flushed hot face. It's like I'm having hot flashes! I throw off the covers. DH is still cold like a normal person and asks me to turn on the heater, but I am the heater!

Is this anything to be concerned about?

Re: Hot face?

  • have you checked your blood pressure.  I have chronic hypertension, and when it is high my ears and cheeks are red and warm.

I normally have perfectly normal blood pressure. Unfortunately I have no way of checking it since there's an ice storm going on outside right now. But I'll definitely mention it at my appt next week.

  • I would check with your OB next check up. It doesn't sound like its anything to be too concerned about unless you get more symptoms with it. I have not been able to sleep with the covers on the last two weeks and i actually only sleep well until hubby gets out of bed and gets ready for work. Those 2hrs of him out of bed seem to be my crucial hrs of sleeping since his added body heat is now no longer an issue (during the night i wake up b/c i get so hot!!) We have actually slept with the window cracked  b/c i get so hot and can't sleep b/c of it!(i live in pa we have snow on the ground and its been below 20 degrees the last few months at night)

My bp is been low and has stayed low and i still have this problem.

keep drinking plenty of fluids and watch your sodium intake to keep the swelling down. GL!! hope you find some comfort/relief!

Luckily I have an appt at my endocrinologist on Thursday, so I can ask her then. My next ob appt is Tuesday.
