Am I the only person on the planet who isn't all that into Facebook? Yes, I have an account but I sign on perhaps once a month, if that. Honestly, I just don't get it. I don't care if you're building a farm or if you're about to leave for dinner or whatever and, if you have something really important to tell me then call me or email be, don't post about it on Facebook.
I just see so many posts about people being upset over things posted on Facebook or questions about when to announce their pregnancy on Facebook and I think wow, I am just really out of the loop but hey, at least I don't have to spend my energy being mad about things on Facebook.
What am I missing?
Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12
Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck. Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
Re: Facebook - am I the only one?
Yep.
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
I'm not into the farm crap, etc too. It gives me a quick giggle once in a while, and I do have friends that I am better in touch with b/c that's how they are online. It's gone from "OMG, just pick up the phone and call me!" to "OMG, you never email me anymore, we only talk on FB" lol.
My FB pet peeves are the ones who post nothing but negative chit all the time, (I have one that complains about having to clean her 6500 sf house) or ones with constant glitter farts laden with snarky passive agressive comments. It's an interesting social media, I find it very interesting in many ways.
ps - today's giggle, my grandma calls it "My face" and thinks Myspace and FB merged. lol.
This makes me laugh because we were watching Law & Order SVU the other day and they called a social networking site MY FACE!
ditto. I go through phases when I'm more into it than others, but I still usually check in once a day! It's a bit of an addiction, really:)
This!! I love facebook
LOL.."myface"
My Dad calls it "Spacebook." Like, maybe it's for astronauts or something?

Self proclaimed facebook addict! I am nosy as can be and a Gemini who overshares! FB feeds this combo perfectly!
I also love that I have reconnected with extended family and childhood friends.
As a SAHM, FB is kind of like my water cooler. Its the closest I get to consistent adult contact. FWIW, my friends don't start or carry-on with drama on FB.
My uncle calls it that as well. My aunt is on Facebook, but my uncle swears he will never join. He can't see the point.
I 100% don't "get it".
I resisted getting on and I rarely ever check it.
When I do I'm bombarded by what wine a friend had that night or what tooth another friend's kid is getting or a "vote for my kid" thing.
It's information over load for me.
If everyone posts every single time they take a piss what's left to talk about with your IRL friends when you call or see them?
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
