  • Totally not ok.  How is this even a question?

  • Can you go pick them up from McDonalds, IHop, Cracker Barrel or somewhere?  That way if they come up, you will be at home....That's what I would do!

  • Have they been keeping things down?  Then of course go get them some comfort food!

If you haven't tried giving them solids yet, why would you even consider taking them out to eat?

I agree, how is this even a question?

  • D.  Stupid.  (not you, taking them out).

    make pancakes at home.

  • This is a question because MH took DD out to eat this morning because she wanted pancakes after she was up all night sick....and told him she wanted to do a special daddy/daughter breakfast.

Also, if it was me, yes I would have made her pancakes.

I called while they were out to breakfast to check on her and he told me what they were up to. I told him he was off his rocker and he said "if she's not puking on the table, what's the big deal". He called when they got home and said she was just fine. I asked him if at any point he thought this may not be the best thing and he said the thought crossed his mind, but he said she was being so sweet and asked if they could do a daddy/daughter day and have pancakes (that's their "thing".)

  • Ahhh,

so you were just using us for ammunition against DH?  ha ha

Hope DD is still feeling better!  I guess as long as she's okay, consider it a break for a tired mom who was cleaning up puke for the past 24 hours.

ETA: and if she throws up the pancakes once she gets home, it's on DH to clean up, of course.

  • I don't know - it's his problem.  If he was comfortable knowing that she might puke all over the place and he's the one that has to do deal with it, then fine - let him go.  You might think it's a bad idea, but you're not the one dealing with it.

That said, I probably would have made pancakes at home.  But, if your DH is like my DH, he never cooks, any meal the kids eat with just him around is out or takeout...

  • We probably would have just done the drive thru or make them at home just to be safe.  But, if she feels well enough to want to go out to eat pancakes, my guess is she'll be able to keep them down.
