Hmm.. I would be too. Perhaps ask them what their offer is to get an idea of what they're thinking?
Also, if I may ask -- 1) how much are you selling for and 2) do you think it's worth it? I really want to register for one, but may try to look on CL for used ones as well.
I put $70 on there. I actually got it from someone on this board and never used it (I just put it somewhere not terribly accessible and was too lazy to pull it out). I know others on the board have used that or similar things - maybe ask a qs in a sep post?
As far as Craig's List goes.....I would just tell them that "I asked for $70, and that's what I'd like to get." It's one thing to ask if someone will accept a little less, but I think they should make an offer first.

I LOVE mine! I know that some people just use a steamer and a food processor, but I like that I only have to clean one appliance after using it. And though its small size can be a little annoying when making large batches of food to freeze, I do like its small size for keeping it on the counter and storing it. It works great, cleans easily, and doesn't take up much room.....like I said, I love it!
people will try to low ball you and make ridiculous offers sometimes! i once listed something at 50% off retail (brand new in pkg) and someone emailed me and asked me if i would take 50% of my asking price for it! I politely told her no....
in your case what I usually write is something like
"Well, the item retails for $___ brand new and it is in excellent/like new condition, so the lowest I am willing to sell it for is $____. If I still can't find a buyer in the near future then I can email you back and let you know if/when I am willing to sell it for less"

you can email them and say $70 is the lowest you'll go and if they back off then you could always email back.... I think w/CL a lot of times people just want to get the lowest price possible but half the time if you say your price is firm they email back and say "ok, I'll take it. just wanted to see if you'd sell it for less." either that or they leave and try to find something who is selling the item for way less than it is worth!
Ugh yeah, I hate it when that happens! When this happened to me in the past, I would just wait another day or two to see if anyone else wants to buy it at my asking price and then email back and say I can give it to you for (a little less than asking price). And then if someone else already bought it at asking price, then I email back and say "sorry, someone already took it for asking price".
I forgot to mention... if you are not in a hurry to sell, my experience is that most things will sell at your asking price, it's just a matter of time.... i have listed things at what i considered a very fair price and i would get like 4 or 5 offers at lower prices and I'd always say "no, sorry, my price is firm" ......and then i'd forget about it and re-list another month later etc. and then after 2-3 months i'd have someone email me, really excited to see the item at my asking price and wanting to buy it right away so you really never know. i think $70 is a fair price so i think if you don't mind waiting i'd just keep re-listing until you find a buyer...keep in mind that you can delete your post and re-list it to bump it back up to the top every 48 hrs (sometimes people see an old post and assume it's already sold)... i usually did it once a week, on Fridays for the weekend folks. HTH!
