I saw some eyebrow raises in the post below where I posted AAP sample menu for 2 year olds - specifically at its inclusion of butter or margarine. Jack occasionally will ask for "bit! bit!" when I have the butter out - and I cut him a little slice - and he eats it right up, yum, yum! Honestly, he is such a skinny little guy I figure he can use a little extra fat in his diet now and then! But yeah, it's gross. Not to him though! Quite the treat. Butter pats and Juice! Yep, that's me!
Wheee!

jake loves to eat butter straight. he uses bread as a butter delivery device. He'll lick the butter off, ask for more, and have a breakdown if we say no!
Gotcha and I agree! Butter = good, margarine definitely = blech!

OMG, this! Butter is awesome. I also use bread, or pretty much anything else as a butter delivery device.

If I can count all the weird stuff DS does...it's a ton...he dips anything in his milk...yup, bread, chips, tortillas.
We give him butter on his toast, but I could see him doing that too. He doesn't eat straight butter, but I am not against it or anything.
