I had my NT today. Results were good and my OB didn't say anything but that they were great. However, I received a copy of the report and looked up values for what is average and it appears that my PAPP-A seems to be low. Like I said, the doctor didn't say a word about this, and I will probably call and ask tomorrow, but did anyone else have this result at their NT? I quickly googled and it seems that it's associated with poor placental function, low birthweight, maternal hypertension, and some others. : /
Thank you!
Re: Anyone know about low PAPP-A?
IUGR, low birth weight, higher C-Section rates, extra fetal monitoring, stillbirth... I can't think of any more right now.
I was 1st% for it and I had NSTs twice a week for a month, then was doing well enough that I went to once a week.
Perinatiologist(sp) told me those risks, said it may have caused my IF... (?) and everything was fine.
She did measure behnd (35-36wks) at birth and weighed 5lbs 4oz.
My RE said that it would mean that I wouldn't go into labor on my own either (after the fact) but I had a scheduled section.
It's just a monitoring thing, and K was Dx with SGA.
It made me a 'high risk' pregnancy, but I was the only person on the boards that had ever heard of it so the lack of information was a little scary : /
GL!!!
Thanks for the info! Did you find your PAPP-A level out at your NT then? I'm really surprised my OB didn't say anything about this if my levels are as low as I think they are. My other children were normal weight and I didn't really have any issues, but this is the first time I've gotten the b/w details.
