Late ovulation on Femara?

I'm just curious what others have experienced. Last month I had 2 big follicles and got a positive OPK on cycle day 14. My CD 12 ultrasound this month showed smaller follicles and it is now cycle day 17 and I still haven't had a positive OPK and I've been testing twice a day after I've held my urine for at least 4 hours. I've been having sex at least every other day since day 11 just in case, but I just really want the affirmation of seeing that positive result! 

Have you ovulated later on Femara? I guess I just expected it to happen around the same time each cycle when you're taking meds. This is my third medicated cycle and it's still sort of new to me. 


Started TTC May 2010 Dx PCOS Nov 2010 DH dx with abnormal morph, low motility, poor progression, March 2011 Nov 2010, Femara, 2.5 mg + TI, = no response Dec 2010, Femara 5 mg + TI, 1 mature follie = BFN Jan 2011, Femara 5 mg + TI = no response Feb 2011, Femara 7.5 mg + TI, 2 mature follies = BFN March 2011-break April 2011, Clomid, 100 mg = no response May 2011, Femara 7.5 mg + Bravelle = no response, ovarian cyst Jun 2011, Checked for cysts, 1 unexpected mature follie, trigger shot + TI = BFN Jul 2011, Femara 10 mg + IUI #1, 2 mature follies = BFN Aug 2011, break

    This is my third time on Femara.  I go each month for ultrasounds.  The first month and this month I was right on day 14.  The second month it was day 17 before the follices were ready to trigger.

    I'm on CD 16 and still getting a "low" reading on my monitor.  I decided not to trigger this month, hoping I would just O on my own, but I'm not sure it's going to happen.  I've never not Oed on my own before, so I'm really frustrated. 

    I had an 18mm follie on Friday, so I think it should be soon.  If I don't ovulate by Wednesday I have to go back in for another u/s and if it still looks good I'll probably just go ahead and trigger.

    My RE gives me a trigger since I don't O on my own.  I've noticed I get an earlier O with Femara compared with Clomid.  I've had a CD13 O and two CD14 O's on it.

    First cycle on Clomid I triggered on CD15. On Femara I wasn't ready for trigger until 18/19.
    11/10: IUI #1 =100mg Clomid CD4-8 + pregnyl trigger + IUI = chemical pregnancy
    1/11: IUI #2 = 5mg Femara + trigger + IUI = BFN
    2/11: IUI #3 = injectibles + trigger + IUI = BFN
    IVF #1 April 2011 ER 4/23 w/16 eggs retrieved, 14 mature, 11 fert., 4 blasts to freeze, 5dt of 2 blasts on 4/28, beta #1 5/7 = 243... beta #2 5/9 = 491....beta #3 5/11 = 1113!!

    I am on my first cycle of Femara and after my ultrasound I got the positive OPK on about cycle day 14.
