losing conjoined twins

I was pregnant for 19 weeks, when I went for my second ultra sound which ended up being my worst nightmare. The tech informed us that we were having twins, but by the sound of her voice I knew something was wrong.  My babies were conjoined by the chest and torso, all the organs were shared, heart, lungs, bladder, everything.  My doctor was good enough to get me to a high risk specialist that hour, where we found out nothing could be done. The babies had a zero chance of survival if they even survived the next 4.5 months. Termination was recommended, it was 19 days and 6 weeks when I lost my two little babies.  I am taking some time off work, and just constantly reminding myself of all the good things we are blessed with in my life. My husband and myself and looking forward to trying to conceive again. Its odd, I was very excited about having a baby and enjoyed being pregnant, but it sad how you realize how very much you want a baby after your not having one anymore.

I'm so terribly sorry about the loss of your twins.  It must have been heartbreaking for you.  I'm glad you've decided to take some time for yourself.  I, too, have been constantly reminding myself of why I should be grateful using a "glass half full" approach.  When my DH and I first started ttc, I wasn't sure I was ready.  But now that it's been taken from me, I suddenly want it SO MUCH MORE.  I fully understand how you're feeling.

I'm very sorry for your loss.  I know exactly the feeling of going to your anatomy scan thinking everything is OK and having the rug pulled out from under you.  It's amazing how much your world can change in a few seconds.  I'll never forget the "We have some bad news" and what followed.  I'll be thinking of you.

I am so sorry for your losses.  What a terrible thing you are having to go through.  This is a very supportive and comforting board, so I do want to welcome you with open arms.  (((hugs))).  I know how you feel about the want and need to have a baby even more.  It feels like a switch turned on the day we found out we were pregnant, was devastating when we lost our baby, and then the switch just won't turn off, ever.  You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm so very sorry for the loss of your babies. You're right that you never understand just how much you love and want your baby until they are taken from you.
