OBGYN

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to see who people are using/used for their OBGYN in the Manchester/Londonderry area.  Right now I am scheduled to go to Bedford Commons but wanted to see other people's experience elsewhere.  Bedford Commons says they only due 2 u/s and the first one isn't until about 10-12 weeks so I'm hoping to find a drs office that has a slightly different schedule.

Thanks!

Re: OBGYN

  • this is kind of off topic but bedford commons was the group that delivered my daughter at elliot and they were awesome!

depending on the doctors they may only do one u/s so your lucky they would do two. goodluck with your pregnancy!

This. One u/s is pretty normal unless there are issues. I had one at 7w for DD because I had no idea when my LMP was so I could have been either 7w or 11w, so that was needed info. With the second pg, I wasn't supposed to get one until 20w. For most places the 10-12w u/s is for an NT scan, which is optional, so not always covered.

I went through Manch OB and had a great experience for the short time I was there and plan to keep going there in the future. I've heard great things about Bedford Commons though too.

  • i have heard great things about bedford commons.  i use women's care of nashua and delivered at southern new hampshire medical center (in the old mat. ward) and had a great experience with both.

i ended up with 3 ultrasounds and then a 4th when i was going into my 42nd week.  the first was to confirm the date, then the other two were as regularly scheduled, 12 weeks & 20 weeks.  the 4th was 3 days before being induced to check fluid levels.

    hope that helps!  :)

  • I also made an appointment at Bedford Commons.  I have an appointment there Monday (Jan 31) so I'll let you know what I think!  I did hear that Elliot Hospital is a great place to deliver, so that's one of the reasons I chose them as opposed to somewhere in Nashua (I live in Amherst, so I was looking for doctors in Manchester, Bedford, and Nashua).
  • I know this is an old thread, but I don't come on here often since there's not much going on.  Anyway, I go to Bedford Commons and really like them.  There was only one Dr. that I didn't like, and it may have just been the situation (I had 24+ hours where I couldn't keep anything down and he told me it was probably viral because morning sickness doesn't last until 16 weeks...  Yeah, it lasted well past that and has come back for me, so thanks, buddy).  Some of the Drs. are better about giving out info, but they'll always tell you if you ask.
