How is Nolan? Did you call?

We are in contact with the pedi every couple of hours through the night and today. He is seeing him the afternoon to make the determination. He has peed every 12 hours or so, drinks a few sips, and up it comes... the ONLY thing keeping us from taking him in is his demeanor. He wants to play most of the time, is talkative ect. Our pedi is not afraid to send us in, but an IV in an almost 3 year old can be traumatic, so we are trying to wait it out at home.

He just ate a handful of noodles and chicken broth, so we are going to see how long it stays in. Even if only for 15 min, he is absorbing something?

I HATE making this decision, and each time we literally are ready to toss him in the car, he acts a little better, or takes a sip or two.

Im a former NICU nurse/ pedi ER nurse and have started many an IV in a 3 year old, so I know how that can go. A good nurse can make all the difference.

I hope he feels better soon.
