Bleeding for 18 days!!! :-( What is happening??

I have been bleeding for the last 18 days.I have also had pretty awful cramps. 

I was 6 days late and I started bleeding but never experienced anything like this before. It has been every color... Red, dark red, dark brown and everything in between.  On what I am thinking to be CD1, I had the heaviest discharge on what I can only describe to look like red oysters. (SORRY) Has anyone on this board experienced anything like that which resulted in a miscarriage?? I am very concerned and currently waiting on my OBGYN to call me. What is this stuff that my body is trying so hard to get rid of????

I'm a little confused by your post. Did you have a positive HPT and then start bleeding? Calling the doctor was a good move. All of us on this board have had a miscarriage and all have had bleeding. Best wishes to you.

It sounds like you are passing clots.  Your Dr. will be able to confirm whether you are still pg or if you've miscarried.  Best of luck to you.  FWIW, I've been bleeding for over two weeks from my natural m/c.

I am a bit confused.  Were/are you pregnant?  was your AF just late?  Did you take a HPT?  If so then it sounds like a M/C although I am not in the medical field.  I bleed for 5 weeks before needing a D&E

Yes, I did but it came back negative. Went to the doctor, this morning, and his diagnosis was that it was a chemical miscarriage after doing vaginal exam and looking at remaining discharge under microscope. He said that 75% of women have chemical miscarriages but they do not even know it and sometimes the HCG levels are already so low that they are not picked up. This may sound ridculous but even though the hpt was negative, I knew something was going on to make me feel as if I was. That is until I started cramping, bleeding and having seveal clots.

Yes, thank you. I probably wouldn't have gone had my sister (31 yrs) and bessie (25 yrs) not urged me since they both are having trouble ttc. My doc gave me a pack of birth control to regulate it but that means there will be down time for at least a month.
