Micah is one of our top contenders if this LO is a boy but I'm starting to wonder if the name is going to the girls like so many other great boy names. I only know two Micahs IRL and both are boys.
I think it is a masculine name, however I group it with the creepy-children of the corn- like-names. I don't care for any of the boy names that end in "ah". Josiah, Jedediah, Jeremiah, Micah, Elijah, Ezrah..... they are all creepy to me.

Micah is a boys' name. It looks masculine, it sounds masculine, and it's been masculine for a very, very long time. There's no excuse for naming a girl Micah.
There is a Hebrew varient, Mica---however, the fact that the name sounds exactly the same as Micah, which has been masculine in our culture forever, isn't doing a girl any favors.
Accepted varient or no, it's the difference between Kamryn and Cameron. One's only feminine because someone said so.
Boy although I know one girl with this name. However she is Trinidadian and her brother is Mikhail. The names are so similar that I always wondered if they were popular in Trinidad.

I voted too girly. I've known several boys named Micah, and I think it suits them fine but it doesn't change the fact that the older sister of a girl I grew up with kindergarten-high school was named Micah. I think I might have been in my late teens when I first realized Micah was supposed to be a boy's name. Also, mica is a sparkly mineral which seems really girly to me
I know three Micah's two are a boys and one is a girl! To me it is so unisex i can't really decide which one it goes best with. Maybe b/c I have grown up with these two it just sounds normal for the boy or girl to have that name! GL!
True, but all three of your little girl's names are also boy's names so it seems you are into the unisex names in general.
while it is true i like unisex names in general, micah jude carter is the whole name.
That makes so much more sense! You may want to take your last name out of your siggy though since this is a public forum and there are creepers on the internet.
FWIW-its a very nice name, NMS at all but nice nonetheless

The H is a great way to determine if it's a boy or a girl. If I see an H at the end, it's a biblical boy name, if I see no H, then I'm going to assume girl. I find the hard C more masculine and punchier than Michael.

Definitely boy.
However, Mica is a female Hebrew name. I don't think it's very popular though.
Agreed.

Haha...we have opposite problems! Its my DH's favorite for a boy and I'm the one on the fence

I know Micah is suppose to be a boy name, but I don't like it
I did have a student last year named Micah and she was a girl--I think I like it better this way

haha! glad i could clear that up for you. [:
and thank you. [:
I'm so glad to see the results! Micah is also one of our favorites, but we take huge issue with it's growth as a unisex name.
That said, I do somewhat agree with previous poster, when DS was born we chose Isaac because Micah didn't seem strong enough.
