I am using this website right now to help me shed a few pounds before my brother's wedding. Has anyone used it before? If so, did it work for you? My sister used it before her wedding and lost 15 lbs. I'm excited to get started! If you've used it, I'd appreciate any tips or advice! TIA.
Re: Has anyone used sparkpeople.com?
I just signed up for it yesterday! I had to say I wasn't breastfeeding because they don't "allow" us to do it while pregnant or bfing. I went to their Babyfit site they sent me to, but they didn't have a vegetarian option, so I went back to SP and just adjusted my daily calories to what Babyfit had recommended.
I like it so far. I just entered my breakfast and it made me think twice about finishing ds' oatmeal, like I usually do.
Oh, good.. I'm glad I know I have a few people to turn to as "support" incase I feel like I'm going to fall off the wagon so to speak.
Are you ladies using the fitness tracker too, or just the nutrition tracker? I don't do the same activities every day as far as work outs go, so it's hard for me to use the fitness tracker. I do Tae Bo some days, p90x other days, or just go to the gym and run/lift.
I'm doing both, but to be honest, with the 2 wiggle butts, I just put in "do 15 minutes of exercise in front of TV" as my goal. I most likely will do more walking with them once it gets warmer, but right now, I'm mostly focusing on eating healthier. I want to lose 6 pounds at my first goal, then maybe 13 total to be back to what I was before having kids. I'd be happy with the 6 though.
GL to you!
I used it for about 5 months last spring/summer and lost 20lbs (along with a lot of running). I needed it mostly to make me aware of portion size and what truly makes up 2000 calories (or whatever your recommended calorie intake is). I've been bad about running in the winter, but have kept the weight off since I just have a better understanding/estimate of how many calories are in various meals.
So, in short, I highly recommend it. A few tips, if you are going to be exercising definitely enter in your expected calories burned or exercise per week. This will help correctly calculate how many calories you should be eating. I didn't do that at first and it had my daily calorie range around 1300-1500, which I knew was WAY too low for me. Also, set realistic weight loss goals. When you calculate how many pounds per week you need to lose to get to your goal, it should be no more than 2.
Good luck!
