(Note: I went back through the post and can't find these, I know we have talked about these before, I apologize up front...)
1) Pumps - where to rent or try to buy one pretty cheap?
2) Breast Milk donation? She has a sick little one but hasn't been able to really get her to latch well and is having to supplement (hence the reason for trying to find a pump as well). But I know we have talked about a place in San Antonio (?) that has donated breast milk, is there a place like that here? Any other suggestions on finding some breast milk for her baby?
TIA!!!
Edit: Or might have a pump to sell?
Re: Trying to help a friend...2 questions
I have two pumps (one newer one older) that I will be putting on Craigslist. If she'd like to take a look at them, I can take pictures and send them to you via email. I have no need for them since we've officially decided we are DONE.
You can also rent one at most hospitals (not sure of price though) and A Mother's Work as well.
I can't help on the donation part... Sorry.
Med Shop is pretty close to us (assuming she is on our side of town) and this is where I originally rented before deciding to buy a pump. Recommend to her trying a nipple shield if she is having trouble latching; she can purchase one at Target or Babies R' Us.
I may be able to help with the donation I need to check my freezer stash at home. Email me and we can arrange something!
Also, here is a private donation place she can be connected through.
The hospital grade ones are the best at bringing more milk out. I rent one.
They are about 50-60 dollars/month and sometimes they run specials for 35/month.
I highly recommend the symphony medela.
blessings!
Woman's Hospital has a milk bank that does donations and I believe Hermann and Texas Children's does too.
