I've been bringing up the idea of double strollers to Jason, and he is completely against them! He thinks we'll just use the Ergo for the little one and Claire can use her current one. So, how did you convince your husbands that you need one? :-) I don't think he's grasping the importance of having one when we go out to Target or something. But even then, he's mentioned using two strollers! Men.
Re: s/o strollers (doubles)
Ryan was a little shocked, but I told him we needed one and not having a double stroller really wasn't an option. Also considering he's not the one that's going to be taking the babies out by himself.....
While he thinks I'm crazy for owning 3 strollers so far, he can't argue too much since I've only personally spent $20 on strollers so far. (Our umbrella was a gift, we borrowed and returned the snap & go, and bought the infant stroller used.)
This exactly. As a SAHM, I will be the one running errands alone with 2 kids 99% of the time. Since I'll also be the one pushing the stroller most of the time, it's up to me which one we get. He said if that's what we need, that's what we'll get.
Granted, I have twins, but there is no way in hell I'd want to carry one in the Ergo and push a single stroller. That would severely limit your ability to carry/do anything, especially once the new baby gets bigger/heavier.
We have the double BOB and love it.
I'd try to give him an example to illustrate.
For instance, last time Brian wanted to go to the mall without the stroller (Ella doesn't tolerate the ergo anymore - sad!), I reminded him that the time before that, it was a nightmare trying to keep Ella in check.
He had completely forgotten.
Maybe my DH needs to talk to yours? Ha, j/k. I actually did hear my DH tell another dad expecting 2U2 that our double stroller was an absolute necessity. There are some instances that Ergo/single stroller will work... I could never quite do the single stroller/Ergo when I was alone - if the baby was attached to my chest, how was I supposed to get the todller out of the stroller, and chase/carry her around (without crushing the baby).
We use our double all the time: mall, neighborhood walks to the park, children's museum, airport.
I've tried explaining all the reasons, but he seems pretty set in his decision. Now, I know I'll probably be able to talk him into in a few months, but I'd like him to be on board so he doesn't think I'm just buying a useless baby item.
Also, I think his hang up is how big they are. I don't want those crazy huge ones, so maybe I'll take him to BBB and show him they can be smaller as well.
