Let's all remember how awesome mommy-hood is ![]()
Here's mine:
- Getting DD out of her crib in the morning - she holds up her arms and says "oohhh" and sometimes giggles...
- DS gives the best kisses - he grabs my cheeks and lays one on me! (thankfully he has now learned to close his mouth and actually pucker up) - then he always laughs.
Mommy-hood is great ::sigh::
Re: Now... for something simple you couldn't live without out...(as a mommy)
Caroline wraps her arms around my neck...and squeezes so tight...and says 'um um um um um'. I love love love that.
Her little laugh is precious...she hee-haws, and it is simply adorable.
I don't know. My kid doesn't seem to like me much right now. All his lovin' goes to Daddy.
BUT I am always the one to put him to bed, and I hold him close and kiss his sweet cheeks and savor the feel of his soft, warm body in my arms as I sing to him and rock him a bit before putting him in his crib.
I love seeing Grant light up when I walk in the room!

Psalm 113:9 He settles the barren woman in her home as a happy mother of children. Praise the LORD.
DD: When she is in her room napping and I go in to get her when she is awake, she gets SO excited to see me - kicking her feet, waving her arms, smiling. No one is ever that happy to see me!
DS: He is really into running around the house now. If I kneel down to his level, he will run right to me with his arms out and give me a big hug and a kiss - and he is so happy to do it! Also, sometimes when I am holding DD while DS is eating in his high chair, I will give DD kisses, and then DS will lean way over towards me so he can get kisses, too. I love this - I know in a few years, he will be running away from me so I can't kiss him!
And finally, DH and I were laying in bed yesterday morning, and DS woke up first in their shared room. He was looking at books and talking. Then we started hearing DD talking in her babble. Then on the video monitor, we watched DS stand up in his crib, look over into DD's crib, then start babbling right back to her. That went on for a good 10 minutes. DH and I just sat there laughing until we got up to get them! So cute!
How each of my kids react when i go to get them out of their cribs!
Preston looks at me say Where'd you go and gives me a big kiss!
When i open Jordana's door she yells MAMA kisses please! Every morning she does this. I put her up she give me a big kiss than gives me a huge hug!
Of course the next thing out of the twins mouths are Where's Brady? Where's Daddy or Where is JoJo(preston asks this) and JoJo asks Where Pat? (that is what she calls Preston)
When I open Bradys door I get to see him smiling face and starts jumping up and down Mama mama! Melts my heart!
--hearing "hi mama" over and over... I melt into a big pile of mommy mush every single time!
-when I'm sitting on the floor playing with DD and she randomly give me a huge open mouth kiss and a hug, always saying "awww... mama"
-when she wakes up in the middle of the night, or when she's having a hard time falling asleep, I pick her up, she lays her little lovey on my shoulder and melts into me. Most amazing feeling ever!!
There are just no words to describe how amazing it is to be a mommy!!
"I have four children. Two are adopted. I forget which two. -Bob Constantine
"All for Love,' a Saviour prayed 'Abba Father have Your way. Though they know not what they do...Let the Cross draw men to You...."
Kira's silly sense of humor. Her wanting me to color with her all the time. The fact that while in her room at "nap" time today she yelled "bless you" to me downstairs after I sneezed; after she repeated it a few times without my responding, I finally yelled back up "thank you," and she responded by yelling "I'm sleeping."
She can happily entertain herself amazingly well. She's incredibly concerned about others. She wants to see Elena all the time, first thing in the morning, first thing after school, etc.
Elena is here, all snuggly, and growing, albeit growing too quickly for my tastes. Just the way she looks at me, and the way she closes her eyes.

I LOVE it when she's smiles at me just because she sees me. The first time she smiled at me on purpose, my heart melted and it still does every single time.
I also love it when she "talks" to me. Her happy place seems to be on her changing table and it's just so funny when she's all excited, talking away with her arms and legs going. It cracks me up!
Gosh, where do I start? I guess snuggles and I Love You's are probably the best. But I also love when he learns new things/words, it is amazing when he just picks things up without being taught or when practicing something pays off.
It's a good thing that there are usually more rewarding parts than frustrating ones! Otherwise this mom thing would be a whole lot harder! Even if I am mad at him because he did something I asked him not to or spilled and made a huge mess or whatever, he always does something a second later that makes my heart melt. That's natures way of keeping us from eating our own young, right?

aw crap...you guys are killing me this morning! so much specialness to look forward to!! love it!!
Right now, I adore that I am hands down his favorite person in the world. if someone else has him and he sees me, he starts jumping up and down and reaching for me. when he's with me, he's just chill, happy to sit and talk to me, or quietly play with a toy. DH commented yesterday that he loves how Jones looks at me, very intently, just looking deeply into my eyes.
I couldn't do without his giggles, or his gummy little smiles, or his chubby little arms wrapping around my neck.
