Hey Everyone, I'm new to the board and to this whole physical fitness thing. My name is Kat and I just had my DD a little over 2 weeks ago via c-section. I got pregnant at 315lbs and delivered at 322lbs. I am already down to 300lbs now but I want to keep going. I have been overweight my whole life and never really cared enough to change anything. Now that I have DD I want to be healthy for her and I want to raise her in a healthy way.
I am looking to start exercising but I am unsure of what I can do post c-section. I know I can always walk but that is difficult because I live in New England and there is currently 2 feet of snow on the ground. I also do not have the money for a gym membership. Any suggestions or advice would be very helpful because I DON'T want to make excuses anymore!
Also, is there any type of accountability partner set up on the board where we have a specific person we are in contact with where we encourage each other and are accountable to each other to help stick with our weight loss goals? Or any other sort of check in I could become a part of, I think that may be really helpful.
TIA!
Re: New, Intro and Question.
Ditto on needing to be cleared by the OB to start exercising. You can still be active though before you start exercising. My OB said no exercise, but no need to be confined to the glider--just don't over do it, and you'll feel if if you're pushing too hard (i.e. light walks are okay, running is not). Massachusetts totally sucks for exercise in the winter--I'm here too, unfortunately. Once LO and I get settled, I'm thinking of becoming a mall walker; it's cheesy, I know, but I hate winter and I hate being stuck in the house!
Good luck and congrats!
